Affinity for Infinite Diversity!

Our Intentions

With our Infinity Groups, we intend to facilitate the formation of conversation circles – opportunities for loving inquiry, growing awareness and understanding of myriad cultures and traditions, and learning how it is to be someone else.

We also want to provide skills training in deep listening, how to remain present in possibly uncomfortable conversations, and learning how to engage in loving inquiry.

Shared Wisdom for Infinity Groups

“The time of the lone wolf is over. Gather yourselves! Banish the word ’struggle’ from your attitude and your vocabulary. All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.”

-June 8, 2000, Hopi Elders’ Prophecy

Alas, 20 years later, we are still waiting. It is sad that we apparently assumed that someone else was going to fix inequity for us. We failed to realize that we are the only ones we can count on to be the change that is so desperately needed. We must be the ones who must start and maintain different conversations and to take action based on what the conversations reveal.

“You must be the change you want to see in the world.”

Mohandis K. Ghandi, the Mathatma

Nobody is going to do it for us. Truth is, down deep, we don’t want someone else “to do it for us” because when we hand off our power and authority to someone else to do something for us, we simultaneous grant them the power to “do something to us.” We must embrace our ability (responsibility, power, and authority) to make a difference. Consciously or otherwise, we are catalysts. The only question is for what?

“Not everything that is faced can be changed, but nothing can be changed until it is faced.”

James Baldwin

Denial is disempowering. When we pretend that everything is alright when it is not, we are throwing away an opportunity for our collective improvement. Events across America have awakened millions to some of the inequities that have existed for centuries. We must do ALL that is ours to do. We must not go back to sleep!

“… don’t go back to sleep”

Rumi

Sadly, there have been too many events to count that could have been the catalyst for significant change that have faded into oblivion. We must not allow that to happen again.

Unity and uniformity are not the same thing. No two blades of grass are alike. What does it mean spiritually?”

Ernest Holmes

As individuations of One creator, we are inseparable from one another so the well being of all is the responsibility of each. We must learn from one another about one another, identify commonalities, celebrate differences and distinctions, and arrive together in a new place of beginning.

Now is the time to acknowledge that prior approaches have not achieved the desired changes. We must lean into being so open to learning that we expose our own feelings of vulnerability yet trust that this different approach, which may feel unsafe, is the only means to achieve sustainable safety. Coming together in openness and loving inquiry IS the catalyst for lasting change — for heart centered peace.
